New Lies, False Promises, & Bribes

Offering Sophie Jordan's ARC as a bribe was a fabulous success and got my Facebook author page off to a flying start. So what can I do for a follow up? Like my Facebook page, please. And my grateful heart will offer the following rewards.

- I will mow your lawn, but you have to supply the lawn mower and I have a thing for BIG machinery. Like this. It gets the job done faster.

- Enter my contest for an all expenses paid vacation on the beautiful island of Bali where you may experience spiritual awakening and hook up with a hot Brazilian.
Must be a resident of the planet Mars to win

 - Are you convinced yet? Enough to Like me? No?
All right, all right. In a month, on July 26th The Amorous Education of Celia Seaton will be published. I don't have printed advance reader copies,  but I do have access to electronic ARCs that can be downloaded and read on your e-reader or computer.

eARC after midnight on July 25th
Warning: electronic ARCs must be read by publication day. They no longer work after midnight on July 25th. I'm not sure what happens then. Maybe they explode or perhaps (and I really hope this is true) they turn into pumpkins.

So this is the deal. I'll give away two copies to commenters (include your email address) or enter here. If you win the drawing, but you don't have an e-reader, or prefer to read in print, you may select one of my other books as your prize. Just state your preference in your comment.  And be sure to stop by again in a week. I'm off to the RWA conference which means I'll come home with tons of books. And I'm ready the share the LOOT with you.

And then, most important, Like me on Facebook if you haven't already done so.

Contest ends July 1, 2011. Open to residents of USA and Canada only. Void where prohibited. You do not have to Like me on Facebook to enter but c'mon, how hard is it? And really, I'm quite nice.

I Have an ARC of Sophie Jordan’s next book. It could be Yours

Warning: this post contains bribery and (possibly false) promises. Read at your own risk.

For reasons I won’t bother to explain, I have decided to move my Facebook activity from a regular page (a “Profile”) to a “Page” (formerly called a Fan Page).  I’ll be running both for a while but I’m begging—begging I say!—for my friends to “Like” me. It sounds so pathetic, but there you are.

I’ve considered bribery.
- I’ll clean your bathroom (but you have to pay the air fare)
- I’ll get my daughter to clean your bathroom (crossed fingers: I may not actually be able to deliver on this promise)
- I’ll post pictures of Richard Armitage on my Page
- I’ll send you a gorgeous bookmark for THE AMOROUS EDUCATION OF CELIA SEATON. That I can do – send me an email here with your mailing address.
- I’ll give you a chance to win an ARC (advance reader copy) of the fabulous Sophie Jordan’s fabulous new book.

Here’s the blurb:
One of the most notoriously eligible bachelors in Europe is finally ready to marry . . .

For fiercely independent Grier Hadley, being the illegitimate daughter of one of London's most unsavory characters has only one advantage: an enormous, ill-gotten dowry.

Prince Sevastian Maksimi knows where his duty lies: he must find a well-bred young lady—one with a considerable fortune to her name—wed her promptly, and get to the business of producing an heir.

The last thing Grier needs is some unattainable prince curling her toes with his smoldering glances and wicked suggestions. As far as Sev is concerned, she lacks the breeding to become a princess. And yet one kiss from this arresting female is all it takes for him to realize that anyone else in his arms would be unthinkable . . .

Sophie Jordan is one of the stars of historical romance and I cannot tell you how much I don’t want to let this book out of my greedy little paws. But I’m prepared to make the sacrifice. “Like” me below then enter here for a chance to win this book a full six weeks before publication date. Or just make a comment about how much you want the book (leave your email if you’re entering the contest).

Contest ends June 24, 2011. Void where prohibited. You do not have to Like me on Facebook to enter but it would be much appreciated.

Do you like Small Town Books?

For this week's contest I've got a triple-decker of small town magic...
- Sugar Creek by Toni Blake. (Small town doesn't mean it isn't sexy. Phew).
- Virgin River by Robyn Carr. The first in this incredibly popular series.
- I Love this Bar by Carolyn Brown. "Saddle up, Cowboy..."
Enter by June 17th to win all three.

Touch of a Thief

This week's contest gives you a chance to win TOUCH OF A THIEF by Mia Marlowe. It's a gorgeous trade paperback and it's signed.  You can enter at my contest page.

Lady Viola Preston can relieve a gentleman of the studs at his wrists without his being any the wiser and pick any lock devised by man in less than a minute. But she's careful to wear gloves when she steals jewels. Because when Viola touches a gemstone, it "speaks" to her, sending disturbing visions--visions almost as unsettling as the sight of the cool-eyed stranger who catches her red handed.

Now Viola will only be stealing at Greydon Quinn's behest. And even more daunting than the violent history of the red diamond he's after is the prospect of a night in the devastatingly handsome lieutenant's arms. Touch has always been Viola's weakness and the full body-to-body contact Quinn has in mind is about to shatter her defenses and set her senses reeling.
