I Love Cinderella

Fairy Tale retellings always appeal to me. I guess I'm not the only one, given the success of Disney! Lila DiPasqua is making quite a career out of those princesses, though her versions are anything but PG. Her Fiery Tale series offer smoking hot versions of our childhood favorites.

This week I have a signed copy of Lila's A MIDNIGHT DANCE up for grabs.
Inspired by the tale of Cinderella, Lila DiPasqua weaves a steamy historical romance that offers a glass slipper, a dangerous deception, and an impoverished beauty determined to find her handsome prince...and make him pay.

Born into wealth, Sabine Laurent and her twin sister lived a life of luxury, their father's prestigious theater frequented by royalty and aristocracy alike. And Sabine dreamed of her own prince charming--the devastatingly handsome Jules de Moutier.

That was before the loss of her sister and her family's fall from grace--a disaster Sabine blames on the Moutier family. Now, with her father's death, she's inherited his sizable debt and the responsibility of caring for his spoiled long-time mistress and her two wastrel daughters. But with the help of Sabine's eccentric friends--the balance of her father's acting troupe--she plans to get very close to her old infatuation, seduce the rake--and make away with a fortune.

Resisting Jules's skillful mouth and tantalizing touch is not as easy as Sabine supposed. And soon she must decide whether her desire for vengeance is greater than her desire for her one and only prince...

Love fairytales and Lila DiPasqua's books! I have not read this one yet. Looking forward to getting it! Two of my favorite stories are Cinderella and Rose White and Rose Red. There are many Cinderella themed books but not sure about the other. Thanks for sharing today!

One of my favorites is Beauty and the Beast, which has been used many a time in romance novels. One of the best incarnations, in my opinion, is Robin McKinley's Beauty.

Well, my favorite was always Sleeping Beauty. I love when she dances with the animals wearing Phillip's cloak in the Disney version. Actually just finished Lila's Sleeping Beau which is in her Awakened by a Kiss fairy tales. luvlott1981(at)yahoo.com

while Cinderella's taken away from toil sounds good after a long day, and sleeping beauty appeals when the idea of taking an (very) extended "nap" with a good morning kiss from tall dark and handsomely charming on the other end, my all around fave is beauty & the beast :)

Hi Joan! Thanks for this great giveaway:) I recently received a swag pack and some bookmarks and a little booklet with an excerpt from A Midnight Dance came with it. My mum is an avid romance reader and gobbled up the excerpt. Ever since then, she's been wanting to read this book. Thank you for this chance to win it for her:)

To answer your question- my favourite fairytale has to be Cinderalla because I'm always calling my grandmother (my mother's mother) my fairy godmother because she always seems to set things right when they're going terribly wrong and she provides me with a great deal of comfort in my moments of distress. I can't think of a book I've read which retells this tales. I have, however, watched the Cinderella Story movie and loved it!:) It even made me weep a little *blush*

Thanks for this great giveaway!

Hi Miranda,
My favorite fairytale has always been RAPUNZEL which Disney, of course, has done in animation but I don't believe anyone has redone it as a romance novel unless someone knows of one that I haven't read.
Sounds like a great giveaway and since I haven't read this one, I'd love to. Thanks for the opportunity.

I think Cinderella has to be my favorite fairy tale. I loved the Ever After take on it with Drew Barrymore.

Thanks for the opportunity to win a copy of Lila's book.

Miranda -
What a great question! My favorite fairy tale is Beauty and the Beast. Having an all male household with the exception of moi as they were growing up I thouught of both of my sons as having a little bit of the beast inside them just waiting for the right "beauty" to recognize their fine points as I did with my husband! Hopefully my granddaughters will teach my grandsons to see their inner beauty and compassion as well.

Sleeping Beauty was one of my favorites. The three good fairies reminded me of how people open their hearts to take in children and raise them with lots of loving care. Plus the happy ending included a handsome prince -- what girl doesn't dream of that?!! Thanks for your generous giveaway, Miranda!

I've never really had a favourite fairy tale, and having rewatched a lot of the Disney ones with my little sister recently, there are some that I just don't like. Ever After (which was a Cinderella retelling right?) is really, really good though, so I guess I quite like Cinderella. Thanks! Is the giveaway international??

I don't really have a favorite fairy tale though if I had to pick one I'd go with Sleeping Beauty. A bit on the dark side so the happily ever after ending is all the more sweeter.
