Sin, Scandal & Seduction...

There are a lot of book titles with those words. Just off the top of my head I’ve come up with Last Night’s Scandal (Loretta Chase), Sins of Lord Easterbrook (Madeline Hunter), An Invitation to Seduction (Lorraine Heath).  Quick, how many can you name? What other words do you often see on the covers of books? Are there any words that especially appeal to you? Any you prefer to avoid?

One commenter will win a copy of Jennifer Haymore’s A Touch of Scandal.  If you don’t want to comment you can enter the contest here.

Sorry, only US entrants are eligible to win, though all are welcome to join the discussion. Contest void where prohibited. No purchase necessary. Winner will be chosen at random on June 3rd.

I can name quite a few books with tempting titles. However, I'll just list a few for you

1. Midnight's Wild Passion - Anna Campbell
2. Mine Till Midnight - Lisa Kleypas
3. Seduce me at Sunrise - Lisa Kleypas
4. A Little Bit Wicked - Victoria Alexander
5. Wicked Pleasure - Lora Leigh
6. Mastered by Love - Stephanie Laurens
7. Temptation and Surrender - Stephanie Laurens
8. Desire Never Dies - Jenna Petersen
9. Simply Forbidden - Kate Pearce
10. The Dangerous Viscount - Miranda Neville (lol)

Some of the words that I like to see in a title are:

1. Seduce
2. Seducing
3. Tempting
4. Wicked
5. Notorious
6. Pleasure
7. Sinful
8. Rogue
9. Rake
10. Forbidden

Well, that's it for now.

Thanks for this awesome opportunity to win this book.

I'm not sure if it's that they appeal to me so much or just that they're regularly used but the following (w/ their variations) come to mind: rake, rogue, wicked, scandal, danger, highland, knight

Hi Miranda,

Several of the books on my Wish List include these deliciously descriptive words:
> Wicked
> Scandalous
> Desires
> Rogue
> Passion
> Pleasures
> Surrender
> Ecstasy

That being said, I can tell you that I am very much looking forward to an "amorous education"! LOL

@Tracey - you have no idea how hard it is coming up with titles. Thanks for the suggestion :) I will have to write a book to fit it! (Such a hardship)

@Diane What terrific lists. I'm going to save them for future reference. Those are all great titles: Desire Never Dies particularly takes my fancy today.

@gamistress: The WICKED SCANDAL OF THE DANGEROUS HIGHLAND ROGUE KNIGHT. (Couldn't quite fit in rake LOL)

@Laura - Thanks for the list. I decided to inject a little gravity into the world of romance titles by including "education." Heh heh.

@Johanna: So very true. Enchanting is attractive, IMO, and perhaps not quite so common.

Thank you all!

Prize time: Jennifer Haymore's book goes to Diane. (I have her address). Last week's winner, Bridgit, never got in touch with me. So I'm awarding Gaelen Foley's book to Sarah G. If Bridgit gets in touch I'm send her a different book. Congrats ladies. For future contests I'm going to have you enter through the contest link too so that I have full names and addresses.
